Once upon a time there lived two witches along the side of the empress. These two witches were polar opposites: one with hair the colour of raven feathers and one with hair the colourof fresh fallen snow. They were the left and right hand of the empress and they were known as the "Golden Trio". The Snow Lotus grew power hungry one day, dealt with dark magic and wanted to overthrow the empress by luring her into a dirty trap and killing her. The Raven Flower noticed this however, defeating the Snow Lotus. When the Snow Lotus was sent to exile in the Zagorim Tower, she started to become known under the Name "the Witch of Zagorim."
And on that we’re starting this documentary to “The Witch of Zagorim” a project written by me. The protagonist of this book is Loraenelle, or “Nelly”. She is a young elf from Namadell which lies in Thanatos and discovers the unethical doings of the royal empire, while she studied in Elvenor, the biggest and most prestigious university in all of Thanatos. As a consequence she goes on a quest together with her friends to find the legendary “Witch of Zagorim” who might be able to help them overthrow the Empress.

I have saved most of these pictures years ago and unfortunately did not think to save them in my Pinterest board as well, which is why I lost some sources. I will replace these pictures, as soon as I get the time.

Loraenelle “Nelly”
Nelly is a very kind, nineteen year-old elf girl with middle-length, blonde hair and brown eyes. She has pale skin and freckles and usually wears her university’s uniform. Her special ability allows her to heal wounds quick and efficiently. Most of the time she appears timid, gets easily scared, but she is determined to reach her goals. She’s very smart and can easily assess situations and decide on the best course of action. Despite being scared of the future, she still wants to help people and knows that if she won’t do it, no one will.
Nelly has a white pet ferret called “Kitty”, which she is convinced of is a cat.
Background
(Nelly was 3, Taeral was 6) Nelly forgot a huge part of her childhood, because she was too little to comprehend what happened, but the scars stuck – invisible – to her soul. Her father had a huge gambling addiction and a drug problem. He borrowed money from a lot of people, but one day this would prove to be fatal. Nelly, Taeral and their older brother Castall (10) were out to collect berries from the forest at the time, when a gang, who their father had borrowed money from, came to their house to demand he pay them back. He could not handle the fear, because he did not have the money to give them anything. In a last attempt to make his ending peaceful, he threw countless of pills in and died of an overdose. Their mom was working in the basement meanwhile and the gang didn’t give up that easily. They went to the mom to ask for money, who did not answer quick enough for their liking, so they stabbed her 13 times in the chest.
When the 3 children arrived back at home, playfully bickering with each other, the gang was about to leave. They spotted them, so they had no chance to flee. Castall stood protective in front of his two younger siblings, shouted at them to run. The gang did not comprehend it as fast, when Taeral grabbed Nelly by the wrist and pulled her along with him, away from the group.
The distraction of their big brother worked, they stabbed him and ran after the two children. However, they had a headstart and Taeral pulled Nelly to a hiding place they had found, when they were wandering around in the streets. It was a small crack in the foundation of a house, big enough that the children could fit inside, but small enough that adults would not fit through the hole.They also had stones to replace the crack in the wall. Taeral held Nelly’s mouth closed, while she was sobbing loudly. The soldiers didn’t find them and they survived.
Later, they found their house burned down by the gang and had nowhere to go. They rescued a few things that weren’t past saving and brought them to their hiding place. For a long time they survived by burglaring, pleading people to give them some food or just straight up stealing, when Taeral learned about becoming a hunter. As a small child, there was not much he could learn and he had to somehow provide for his sister, so he decide to apply for the Hunter’s League.
They lived peacefully, but as they grew it became increasingly difficult to get through the hole. When Taeral was 12, he could no longer get inside, so he stood watch outside, while his sister slept inside. After a while, he was able to find a good Samaritan, who rented them a proper place for a very cheap price, so they didn’t have to sleep on the street any longer.
When Nelly was 11, she expressed her dream to Taeral about wanting to study in the academy in Elvenor, do Taeral worked extra hard to bring the money in. 2 years later they had enough money saved up and Nelly went to studying. With both of them making money, they were soon able to afford a small house, where they lived until the current time.
Taeral
Taeral (Namadell, Thanatos) is Loraenelle’s older brother. He is twenty-two years old and has short, wavy, platinum blonde hair with green eyes and tanned skin. As well as his sister, he inherited their family’s freckles. Most of the time he is seen in clothing fit for his job – being a hunter. For this job he possesses a dagger filled with the power of the plants. He is quite overprotective of his little sister due to their past – hoe does not want to loose the last person he has left.

Kieran
Kieran (Namadell, Thanatos) is a friend of Taeral and works together with him as a hunter. As well as Nelly and Taeral he is an elf with has blue/grey eyes and mid-length, black hair. His skin tone is slightly tan and he always wears dark, practical clothing. His weapon is a bow infused with the elements fire. He is quite stern and seems cold sometimes, but deep down has a deep feeling of self-hatred, due to the high demands and expectations his noble parents had of him. During his childhood, he never felt good enough, so now he strives to make a difference and to find his true meaning of life.
Annabella
Annabella (The Tree of Life, Thanatos) is a young witch (“Baby Witch” in witches social circles) with black skin, green eyes and mid-length, white hair. She usually wears elegant dresses that complement her curves and a big witches’ hat. She is the owner of the “Black Widow Brewery”. Her weapon is a big staff infused with the element water. She has a white-black splattered pet horse called “Opal” and a pet Catypus called “Hops”. To other people she seems mysterious, tired or as a perfectionist, but deep down she is afraid to not be good enough and always be behind the other, much older witches. Much like her mom, the witch who took her in, she is very interested in experimenting. Her mom raised her with a lot of love, but one day Annabella accidentally put a curse on herself, while she was experimenting, and ever since then searches for a way to lift it.
Cheyenne “Chey”
Cheyenne is a human from Namadell, Thanatos with waistlength, red hair, gray eyes and tanned skin. Her body is muscular and athletic caused by the discrimination and horrible conditions that humans lack in due to their lack of magical power. She grew up in the human slums and always wears clothes she can potentially fight in. The environment she grew up in made her tough and even a bit aggressive, but despite that she is a kind person. The humans have long ago started a movement to change the social rules of discrimination and even slavery of them, which she has joined. Despite of her difficult life she owns a small, black dragon called “Zaldrion”.
Astoria “Asta”/”Tori”: “The Witch of Zagorim”
Astoria (The Tree of Life, Thanatos), also known as the “Witch of Zagorim” is a witch with black, curly hair that reaches her thighs, an oval face shape, pale skin and purple eyes. She has burn scars over her back and arms/hands from experimenting with dark magic, which is why she always wears gloves. Her weapon is a sword infused with light magic and her abilites are basic magic, advanced magic: Pyrokinesis, dark magic: Voodoo. She is very sarcastic, sassy, easily upset, hates mornings and is unnecessarily dramatic. She likes her peace and to be left alone, but a part of her wants revenge, another wants to reconcile with Nephinae and Tiriana, her ex-friends.
Her current pets are a tortoiseshell cat called “Viper” and a black, friesian horse called “Midnight”. The first pet she had was a Feoleon called “Diabolos”.
Background
Nephinae and Astoria knew each other since they were born. They treated each other as best friends, the most precious person in their lives. Unlike elves and humans, witches are not born from parents. They are born from the tree of life, blessed with magic, much like a lot of elemental and magical species. Nephinae and Astoria were born 3 days apart. They were taken in by a witch, who came around to the tree and found the two. This witch worked for the Emperor’s family and about 100 years later, Tiriana was born. Throughout the time of their childhood, Nephinae and Astoria were taken by the Emperor’s family to their dungeons and were heavily tortured, while they tried to find a way to give magic to elves. However, they never made a major breakthrough and Nephinae and Astoria ended up with the trauma. This bonded them for life.
When Tiriana was born, they immediately became best friends and were happy for a while. Astoria’s Feleon Diabolo fell sick and she started to deal with dark magic. Neither Nephinae, nor Tiriana had a problem with that, until Tiriana was sent to the oracle. Everything changed, when she got told, how she would die, due to her weakness. She began distancing herself from her friends and started experimenting on witches and elves, much like her parents, who died in an explosion. Astoria found out about it and confronted Tiriana. Meanwhile, Nephinae was out to seek out the 9 Holy Objects. When she returned with the Skull “Mortality”, Astoria and Tiriana did not speak to each other anymore.
After some time, Astoria threatened to tell the public about her experiments, if she did not stop them, which Nephinae supported. Tiriana then took Nephinae’s younger brother, who came from the same blossom as her, hostage and made Nephinae obey her. She revealed Astoria’s dark dealings, who then got so angry, that she used her black powers to fight against Tiriana. However, Nephinae was told to fight for Tiriana and won against Astoria. But Tiriana was not heartless, so she did not want her friend to die and instead ordered exile for her. Nephinae had no chance to tell Astoria the truth and they ended up separated. When she came right before Astoria’s exile, she wanted to explain, but Astoria was so hurt that she blocked every attempt of her, and left without hearing her out.
When her Feoleon fell sick, she was so devastated. She could not bear losing it, along with Nephinae, it was her world.
Her best achievement was being able to actually summon dark spirits and use dark magic due to that.
Her worst moment was when her Feoleon inevitably died and she discovered what Tiriana has been doing. She felt betrayed and on top of that was exiled. Her best memory is playing with Nephinae under The Tree of Life, before they were taken in for torture and her worst memory is fighting Nephinae.
Nephinae
Nephinae (The Tree of Life, Thanatos), a witch, used to be friends with Astoria and has dark, greyish skin with illuminating green eyes and thighlength, curly, green hair. She usually wears expensive and elegant outfits, fit for the right hand of the Empress Tiriana. During the fight with Astoria she received a deep wound on her cheek that scarred, so she always covers it with a mask. Her weapon is a black sword infused with the power of the moon. She has a green/blue shimmering snake called “Phantom”. The true goal she is after is getting Astoria back and finding peace and harmony. Additionally, she owns one of the 9 holy objects: “Mortality”.

Tiriana (The Empress)
Tiriana (Elvenor, Thanatos) is the Empress of Thanatos. She has waistlength, platinum-blonde hair and gray eyes with pale skin. Her clothing style is expensive and extravagant gowns to show off the wealth of the throne. She has a long-furred, white-gray cat called “Mr. Orlando”. Her goal is to make a scientific breakthrough in giving elves more than basic magic powers and to escape her destiny.

Long, long ago, the Empire Thanatos was attacked by Gahonor, a neighnouring Empire of Thanatos. Thanatos was weak at the time, and almost lost, but the Empress Merialeth had an idea.
Folktale
She called the nine most capable fighters to her throne and gave each of them one item.
The one with chronic illness got the skull “Mortality”.
The one with an old age got the pocket watch “Eternity”.
The one with a life stained by darkness got the pearl “purity”.
The one with a mind filled with hatred by betrayal got the ring “Loyalty”.
The one with an arrogant mind and superiority complex got the scale “Equality”.
The one with a life filled with lies got the coin “honesty”.
The one with a hatred for how his fate turned out got the dagger “Destiny”.
The one with a life behind bars got the tiara “Liberty”.
The one with strong delusions of the world got the mirror “Reality”.
The nine thanked Merialeth strongly for her kindness and fulfilled their duty to protect the empire amd with the help of these magic items, they won.

Nations
Thanatos
Thanatos is a nation mostly inhabited by elves, witches and humans. It is a very nature-loving place with few bigger cities and a lot of smaller towns. The architectural design is based off the elves tastes with imposing, white structures and slanted roofs. Thanatos is a gigantic island with six bridges connecting them to other nations. Each bridge has a trial one must undergo before they can enter another nation.
Gahonor
Gahonor is a nation south east to Thanatos, connecting to Thanatos through the bridge “Wickree”. Most of the nation’s terrain includes mountains, hills, plateaus and waterfalls. Cities in Gahonor are sparsely found, but the ones that are there are quite big. Due to the terrain, it is not possible to have smaller villages scattered all over the nation like it is in Thanatos. Gahonor is also the nation that Astoria was exiled to. She lives to the far east, right by the sea in a lonely tower.
Yu’an Lan
Yu’an Lan is a nation that consist of multiple floating islands over the sea to the northeast of Thanatos. It is further away from the other seven nations and quite isolated, due to being a nation in the sky. The style is mostly ancient chinese with a lot of bridges connecting the islands to each other. Their Emperor is in possession of the Holy Item “Loyalty”.
Cities/Towns
Namadell
Namadell is a city to the north-northeast of Thanatos. As with most towns, the style that populates it, are elven-style houses and mansions from noble folk. A large part of it is on a mountain plateau, where the richer people live and the further one goes down this mountain, the poorer the people become. At the very bottom are the slums, as well as the human slums. Inhabitants of this city are Nelly, Taeral, Kieran, Annabella and Cheyenne. The city is mostly known for its trading system.
Enallona
Enallona is a place that only describes where the Falkensteinschloss, the castle of the Empress lies. The castle is mostly white, in elven-style with a river surrounding it. The buildings around it are mostly quarters for the guards and servants. It lies central in the north of Thanatos.
Elvenor
Elvenor is widely known as the “City of Studies”. Its most famous place is its university, the biggest and most prestigious university in all of Thanatos. Few people live there that do not study or work in the university. It lies to the north east of Namadell.

The Valham Bridge is the bridge that connects Thanatos to Edriya.

The Nightingale is a tavern in Namadell, Thanatos.
The Tower of Zagorim
The Tower of Zagorim is the home of Astoria. It is not located in a specific city, just stands lonely on the east of Gahonor. It is incredibly cramped and very high. Astoria decorated it in all sorts of colours and trinkets she got through her lifetime.
The Falkensteinschloss
As the home of the empress it is very grandiose and pompous and lies in the city of Enallona, Thanatos..
The Black Widow Brewery
The Black Widow Brewery is a Brewery in Namadell, Thanatos and it was founded by Annabella, who still runs it. The interior is quite tiny and cramped, which gives it a cozy feeling.

The Tree of Life
The Tree of Life is the place all witches are born from. Little cocoons hang down from it and after some time a new witch emerges, usually staying there until they get adopted. It lies to the south of Enallona, Thanatos.
